How much does ERP–e-commerce integration cost in 2026

Updated September 13, 2026

An e-commerce that does not talk to the ERP is a second shop run by hand: retyped orders, wrong stock, chaotic returns. Integration turns the online shop from extra cost into a real channel — and its price depends almost entirely on one thing: how open your ERP is.

Price ranges

Basic synchronisation

€3,000 – 8,000

Products and stock from ERP to shop, orders from shop to ERP, once or more per day. Covers most B2C shops on Shopify or WooCommerce.

Full integration

€8,000 – 20,000

Near real-time, per-customer price lists and discounts, automatic invoicing, shipping states, returns. The typical B2B and high-volume tier.

Multichannel

€20,000 – 45,000

Multiple shops and marketplaces (Amazon, eBay) on one warehouse, with priority and stock-reservation rules. Here the integration becomes a small platform.

The deciding variable is the ERP’s "door": documented APIs = low tier; file exports = middle tier; closed database or vendor-paid connectors = quote case by case. Ask your ERP vendor what it exposes BEFORE requesting quotes.

What actually moves the quote

  • The ERP: the same project costs €5,000 with a modern ERP and €15,000 with a closed one from the 2000s.
  • Data direction: just reading stock is simple; writing orders, customers and invoices into the ERP needs rules and controls.
  • Variants: sizes, colours, lots and expiry dates multiply the cases.
  • Frequency: nightly alignment or near real-time — the latter costs more and is not always truly needed.

The typical mistake: underestimating the dirty cases

Easy integration is good-day integration. A serious quote covers the bad days: the order paid while stock ran out, the partial return, the product deleted in the ERP but still online, the B2B customer over their credit limit. Ask explicitly how these are handled — it is the question that separates real integrators from people who once connected two demos.

Frequently asked questions

The ERP vendor already sells a connector: should I use it?

If it covers your case, often yes: cheaper and maintained by the vendor. Custom wins when the connector cannot handle per-customer price lists, variants or your specific rules. A good freelancer tells you before selling development.

Start from the e-commerce or the integration?

Together: designing the shop knowing how it will talk to the ERP avoids redoing half the work. If the shop already exists, integration is added on — expect some catalogue cleanup.

How long does it take?

A basic sync 3–6 weeks, full integration 2–4 months. The slow part is not the code: it is testing with real data and the edge cases that surface.
